We’ve Bean Asked Before - FAQ
Q: How can you sell authentic coffee products at such competitive prices?
A: We work directly with trusted producers and import partners, cutting out unnecessary middlemen. This keeps prices fair without compromising on quality. By managing our own logistics and focusing on curated selections, we ensure you get genuine, high quality coffee products at the best possible value—whether you're buying for your office, café, or retail business.
Q: Why do the prices of coffee fluctuate?
A: Coffee prices are influenced by various global factors. Weather conditions and poor harvests in coffee-producing regions can reduce supply and drive prices up. Additionally, fluctuations in fuel prices, shipping costs, and currency exchange rates also impact the overall cost. Market demand, political instability, and international trade dynamics further contribute to price volatility. These factors combined mean that coffee prices can vary frequently, even within short time periods.

Q: What is the best way to store coffee?
A: To keep your coffee fresh for as long as possible, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from light, heat, and moisture. Avoid storing coffee in the fridge or freezer once opened, as temperature fluctuations can affect the flavor. If the packaging is still sealed, you can keep it in its original bag until you're ready to use it.
Q: Do you ship Internationally?
A: All International orders are sold on an Ex-Works Singapore basis. Customers are responsible for arranging their own freight, customs clearance and import permits in the destination country. Garden State Provides the required export documentation (such as invoice, packing list and certificate of origin) upon request. International sales are treated as exports from Singapore and are zero-rated for GST, subject to valid proof of export.
Q: Why is there a generous shelf life between the roast date and the best before date?
A: For commercially packed coffee—especially vacuum-sealed or nitrogen-flushed varieties—the best before date is typically 12 to 24 months after the roast date. A common standard is around 1.5 years.
This extended shelf life is possible because the packaging removes oxygen and helps preserve freshness.
Q: Is it safe to drink coffee after the best before date?
A: Yes, it’s generally safe to drink coffee after the best before date, especially if the packaging is unopened and has been stored properly. The best before date refers to quality, not safety. Over time, the coffee may lose some of its aroma and flavor, but it won’t become harmful to consume.
